Stellaris LM4F120 LaunchPad
The Stellaris LaunchPad or StellarPad is a development platform from Texas Instruments for the Stellaris 80MHz 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 LM4F120H5QR microcontroller with 256 KB of flash.
The board also includes a RGB LED, one reset plus two buttons and a built-in debugger. |
The IDE or integrated development environment is called Energīa.
It is derived from Arduino 1.0. As Processing-based Wiring-derived, it is platform-agnostic and runs on Windows, Mac OS X or Linux. The SteallarPad is supported by embedXcode, embedded computing on Xcode. |
BoosterPacks
In LaunchPad speak, shields are called BoosterPacks.
Some are built by Texas Instruments, and many others by external manufacturers. A comprehensive list is available here. Some BoosterPacks designed for the LaunchPad are compatible with the StellarPad. Right, the Colour LCD BoosterPack attached to the StellarPad. |
SPI, I²C and Serial Pins
The StellarPad features multiple SPI, I²C and Serial ports.
The front and rear maps are based on Energia implementation. |
New Name: Tiva C Series
The Stellaris LaunchPad is now rebranded as the Tiva C Series LaunchPad. So does the LM4F120H5QR MCU as TM4C123G.
Technical documentation ensures that full compatibility is guaranteed. |
